Introduction
of Central Library
Welcome
to the Library of Dr S. C. Gulhane Prerna College of Commerce,
Science and Arts. It was opened in the year 2002. The Central
Library is the 'Heart' of the institute. Library Building with an
area of 2700 sq.ft. The seating capacity of the library is 140 at a
time. It serves as a knowledge hub containing resources not only in
the form of print but also in e-resources. Prerna Library is a blend
of functional structure, elegance, and exquisiteness has a
collection of total number of books 28657 with 1352 titles;
including Text Books and Reference Books. There are a total number
of 9Journals subscribed by the college library;National (Indian) and
International e-journals in DELNET, magazines and Daily Newspapers,
and a Journals section with reading room facilities. There is a
special reference section for higher learning. Multimedia packages
and Internet Access with an independent Multimedia Room Fully
Computerized with easy access to the database.

Library
By-Laws
No
transaction will be made without an identity card. I-card shall
be non-transferable.
Six
books will be issued to the student member at a time for 60 days
and it may be re-issued for 60 days.
If
the book is not returned before the stipulated time limit, a
penalty of Rs. 2/- will be imposed per day per book.
Any
existing damage should be brought to the notice of the staff and
a signature be obtained. Otherwise,the user shall be held
responsible.
If
the book is lost, either it shall be replaced with a new copy or
by paying double the cost of the book.
If
the requisitioned book is not available, please register your
claim. It will be issued as soon as it is available based on the
serial order of borrowers.
The
borrower fails to get the book issued within 3 days; it will be
issued to the next borrowers.
A
clearance certificate will not be issued unless all the books
are returned in the given time and dues are paid.
The
amount of the penalty shall be recovered after the summer
examination.
